Kukur Tihar Celebration [2081] & "Sahara The Rescue Dog from Bhaktapur" Book Launch
Our school recently hosted a special celebration combining Kukur Tihar traditions with the launch of "Sahara: The Rescue Dog from Bhaktapur, Nepal"!
Students and staff came together with animal welfare advocates and community members to celebrate this unique occasion. The Animal Welfare Club conducted traditional Kukur Tihar rituals, while students showcased cultural performances that captured the spirit of the day.
The launch of our collaborative book project with American author Dr. Julie M. Palais ("Julu") marked the highlight of our celebration. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Palais for inspiring our community and enabling our students and teachers to contribute to this meaningful bilingual publication. The book chronicles Sahara's journey from a street dog to a cherished companion, embodying the transformative power of compassion.
Special thanks to our guests from local animal welfare organizations, ward officials, and community leaders for their support. All proceeds from the book will benefit local animal welfare initiatives, ensuring Sahara's story continues to make a positive impact.
