The Mysterious Ring

One upon a time there was a village nearby a town. In that village, there was only one rich family. In that family there were grandmother, father, mother, elder sister, younger sister and younger brother. There was only one son in that family.

On 5th July the boy turned 14. He had never asked for gifts on his birthdays. But on his 14th birthday he asked for one. Everybody was shocked. He asked to buy something from an antique shop. In that village there was no antique shop. So they went to town the next morning.

In that town there was a carnival. They went to the carnival at first.  In that carnival they saw an old antique shop. There were many things in the shop. The owner was an old lady. After looking around for some time, the boy liked a ring with black stone. Then, the old lady said, "I suggest you not to buy it. Your life will be dark like this black stone. If anything happens you touch the stone in the ring with the water which is not from any river, tap, well, pond or any other water resources. And never fall asleep while wearing it".

He liked the ring so much that he decided to take the risk and bought the ring. He wore that ring every day. He thought that it was like a part of his body. Every night he took off the ring and every morning he put it back on like clockwork.

But on the night before his 21st birthday he forgot to take off the ring. On the morning of his 21st birthday when he woke up he saw nothing but  black. At first he thought it was because he was drunk last night. Then, he thought if slept for one more hour then everything would be fine.

He was suddenly startled awake by a loud scream of a woman. He began to panic when he realized that he still couldn't see anything. It was all black for him. After a while he got the news that his mother slipped on the stairs and hurt herself. He wanted to go to his mother but he couldn't see so he called for his sisters. He told them that he couldn't see anything.

Then they went to hospital.  The doctors check his eyes but could not determine the cause of his sudden blindness.

Then, he remembered the words of that old lady. He remembered that if anything bad were to happen he needed to touch that ring in the water which was not from any river, tap, well, pond, or any other water resources. He also remembered that she had warned him not to sleep while wearing the ring.

Everybody around him was crying. Then, he knew what was the water which is not from the river, tap, pond, well or any other resource was. He then said "Tear is the only water which is not from the river or any other resources. Please touch my ring to your tear”.

Then the boy’s elder sister took the ring from his ring finger and touched it to her tears. After a while the boy could see everything. Everybody was happy. After 2 weeks his mother recovered from her injury and was fine. Then, he threw the ring away in a river where no one could get to it and it was lost forever.
