Do you use AI for schoolwork? If yes, how do you use it? Artificial intelligence (AI) is a computer system capable of performing complex tasks. While AI can help students with research, writing, and other school-related tasks, it can also create problems if not used responsibly. When used the right way, AI can improve learning and make studying more efficient. However, relying on it too much  may lead to issues like reduced critical thinking among students and academic dishonesty. This essay explores how using AI for schoolwork can enhance learning, while also discussing the challenges it may bring if used inappropriately. 

AI in education is simply the use of computer systems in education. It can help both teachers and students. The education field has been rapidly changed by AI. The role of AI has transformed how students learn and how teachers think. AI has brought higher standards and significant changes in education which enhances the students' learning abilities. It has created more immersive learning techniques which teaches things traditional teaching methods cannot.   AI has also brought many scientific discoveries which helps us enhance the education system. In the field of education, AI can help us summarize our work, conduct research, enhance learning experiences, bring shortcuts in our work  and many more things.

Although the use of AI brings with it many benefits, it also has some disadvantages. We should always be careful about using AI for our schoolwork. Using AI to cheat or copy off assignments is never right. It may encourage plagiarism or reduce the creativity in students. “Over-reliance on AI applications was another challenge, leading to reduced critical thinking and self-initiative among students” (Lin and Chen). This could teach students to be dishonest or lie about their work. If they keep on lying about their work this habit will likely carry into adulthood. It is also unfair for the students who don't cheat. AI may also give inaccurate information. If the information the AI collects is inaccurate or biased then the data we get will also be inaccurate or biased.

Using AI for schoolwork has both pros and cons and it depends on how we use it. We should always make sure we are using AI properly and we should never copy or cheat with AI. We can use AI to shorten our work, make our repetitive tasks easier, make research less time-consuming, provide feedback, personalize our learning, etc. Even with a lot of advantages we should not heavily rely on AI. We should place measures where AI is not used unethically.
